Created in 1963 by Jean-Michel Charlier and Jean Giraud for the magazine 'Pilote,' Blueberry
is a flagship of Francophone comics.
Since Jean Giraud's death in 2012, the series had
not seen any new releases.
This time, Christophe Blain ("Quai d'Orsay," "Gus," "Isaac the
Pirate") and Joann Sfar ("The Rabbi's Cat") have combined their respective talents to offer an
adventure of "Lieutenant Blueberry" in two volumes.
While patrolling near an Indian
reservation, Lieutenant Blueberry witnesses the murder of two Apache women killed by three
young White men. The two victims are the wife and daughter of a warrior named Amertume: a
double murder that could ignite the region and trigger a new war...
A story that is both
fascinating and dark, a kind of tribute to this cult western.
