Le Chat made his first appearance in the Belgian newspaper Le Soir on March 22, 1983.
Despite his feline characteristics, he stands on his hind legs and exhibits typically human
behaviors, although his true nature sometimes resurfaces.
Through this character, Geluck can
directly address the reader, whether to share his opinion or simply to make them laugh. Le Chat
often breaks the fourth wall or uses gags to draw the reader into his world. And he is not always
alone; other characters regularly join him.
The best source of inspiration for an artist is
often another artist. In this infinite loop, each one draws inspiration from the other, always using a
different medium. Several forms of art are highlighted here, including painting, sculpture, and
photography. Camera in hand, Le Chat photographs the Mouse.
This 70 x 70 cm
digigraph is offered by Le Chat de Geluck. Printed with pigment inks on Hahnemühle FineArt 307g
paper, it is limited to 100 copies and is signed and numbered by Geluck.
