Description

In 2016, an exhibition was launched at the Musée des Arts et Métiers under the direction of
François Schuiten and Benoît Peeters. More than just a catalog, the goal was to take visitors on a
journey, guiding them as they discovered century-old technical objects and rare, sometimes
unseen, images. Just like the objects on display, drawing was highlighted as a work of precision,
capable of both documenting and creating the fantastic.

At the center of this art print is
the highly recognizable Carmagnolle brothers' diving suit. Created in 1882, it allowed divers to
descend more than 60 meters underwater. This shell, resembling that of a crustacean, was
designed to withstand deep-sea pressure, and its 20 small portholes provided good
visibility.
The precision of Schuiten's drawing not only highlights this mythical object but also
the Musée des Arts et Métiers. As in the exhibition, reality blends with the fantastical, creating the
unique atmosphere of Schuiten's world.

This art print, offered by Atlantic12, reproduces
the exhibition poster. Printed on 250g Artic paper.
