For the 10th edition of the Delémont'BD festival and his first participation, François Schuiten
was honored with the title of Grand Trissou. As part of this recognition, he created the poster for
the event, titled *L'escalier du Temps* (The Staircase of Time).
By blending his own universe
with the surrounding monuments, Schuiten brings the stairs of Delémont Castle to life. According
to him, these stairs are the heart of this city.
Leading to a mysterious alcove from which
sand flows, these stairs seem to open into Schuiten's imagination. Various characters, the sand
carriers, climb the steps toward this portal. Governed by their own temporal mechanisms, they
bear the burden of their own time. The door they approach releases the time deposited there.
Between the gears emerging from the very sky and the realism of the building, Schuiten's
talent is clearly evident. Every detail is meticulously placed, and together they bring this image to
life.
