Le Chat made his first appearance in the Belgian newspaper Le Soir on March 22, 1983.
Despite his feline characteristics, he stands on his hind legs and exhibits typically human
behaviors, although his true nature sometimes resurfaces.
Through this character, Geluck speaks directly to the reader, whether to share his opinions or
simply to make them laugh. Le Chat often breaks the fourth wall, using gags to draw the reader
into his world. And he isn't always alone, as other characters regularly join him.
With a medal around his neck, Le Chat seems to be looking at us. As no other characters
are beside him, his words are addressed directly to us. Are we the loser?
This 40 x 50 cm serigraph is offered by Le Chat de Geluck. Created with 9 color passes,
it was printed in Brussels on fine art Arches BFK Rives 100% cotton paper, 250g. Limited to 400
copies, it is signed and numbered by Geluck.
