Even if historical accuracy is not the central question of Bois-Maury's Towers, the
world depicted by Hermann remains medieval. Throughout the various albums in the series, the
author guides us through an era filled with violence, battles, and knights.
An ancillary
episode in Hermann's Bois-Maury's Towers series, The Man with the axe
follows the adventure of Aymar, the wandering knight and former lord of the Bois-Maury lands. As
he attempts to revisit his old castle, he is left for dead by Ulrik's henchmen. A simple question
arises: how did Ulrik anticipate his arrival? This investigation unfolds throughout the album.
This is a very large format album (34.5 x 45.5 cm), limited to 245 copies, signed by Hermann.
The book features a cloth spine, with exclusive cover illustrations and a Soft Touch finish. This
color version of the story is augmented with 16 pages of color illustrations, sketches, and
storyboards. The print comes with an ex-libris signed by the author.
