The foggy streets of London, an M drawn in yellow chalk, a mysterious figure dressed

black... Edgar P. Jacobs' The Yellow M needs no introduction. The opening sentence,
Big Ben
has just struck one in the morning, immediately immerses us in the story's intrigue.
Adapted from the most iconic album in the Blake and Mortimer series, this
image appears on the cover of the vinyl released in 1957, which features the radio drama
adaptation of the original work. With the voices of Jean Topart and Yves Brainville, playing
Blake
and Mortimer respectively, it is no surprise that this recording was awarded a grand prize
by the
Charles Cros Academy.
In the album, the Yellow M, also nicknamed Guinea Pig
by the
dreadful Doctor Septimus, is surrounded by several anonymous police officers. In this new
image,
however, we find the titular heroes, blinded by the lightning emanating from Guinea Pig's
body.
And this figure, hidden under a dark costume, is none other than their archenemy, the
mysterious
Colonel Olrik.
