If you recognize this lithography, you must have read Mikaël's diptych,
Harlem,
very attentively. Indeed, this image is taken from a panel on the 42nd page of the comic,
marking
the climax of the plot. This music, coming from Porky's favorite record, makes its first
appearance
on page 30 and follows the plot of the second volume up to its resolution.
The
expressiveness
of the musicians only amplifies the effect of the story on the reader. Even if their sound is
silent,
the saxophone suggests the syncopated rhythm and constant key changes of the blues,
thus
recalling the Harlem community.
This lithograph combines Mikaël's art with the
printing
techniques of editions Anthèse. Created on stone, this art print was made on the Marinoni
Voirin
press in the Anthèse editions workshops.
Format: 40.5 x 65 cm, printed on 250
g/m white
Arches paper, vellum, 100% cotton.
Limited edition of 20 copies, signed and
numbered in
pencil by Mikaël, with the Anthèse workshop's dry stamp.
