Serge Clerc's pronounced interest for rock music is evidently transcribed in his drawings.
However, it is not this love that you find in the art print, Sentimental Sentiment. Here,
the artist's usual bold strokes are used to depict two characters with inscrutable expressions.
A square of light highlights their faces, adding to the dramatic effect of the scene. With a
background playing with darker shades of colour, this sudden brightness offers a pleasant contrast
and adds dimension to the art print. This perspective is further enhanced by the play of colors,
oscillating between red and blue.
This lithography combines Serge Clerc's art with the
printing techniques of editions Anthèse. This art print was created on the 1908 Marinoni Voirin
press in the Anthèse editions workshops.
