This magnificent figurine by Tsume represents an iconic character from Saint Seiya:
Aquarius Camus, one of the 12 Gold Saints, executing his ultimate move: The Aurora
Execution.
This very powerful attack produces an incredible wave of energy
capable of nearing absolute zero (-273.15°C), the temperature at which all forms of life
cease to exist. Seemingly supporting him, Aquarius makes a spectral appearance behind
him. The gigantic ghostly silhouette of the woman is ready to pour the contents of her jar
on his enemies. Camus ready to launch this attack: legs apart, arms and hands forming
an amphora-like shape. His golden armor shines and his green jewel sparkles while the
icy blast of his attack blows back his hair and cape and creates ice spikes around him.
Camus is one of Athena's knights, considered the expert of absolute zero and
the master of Hyōga. This character with a heart of ice, who never shows his emotions, is
inspired by Albert Camus. Indeed, Masami Kurumada, a great admirer of the French
writer, wanted to pay him respect. The insensitive nature of Camus (from Knights of the
Zodiac) greatly resembles that of the character from The Stranger.
Furthermore,
his attack, the Aurora Execution, refers to a passage from the same book, where the
protagonist witnesses the execution of a man at dawn. Finally, it should not be forgotten
that the character of Camus in the manga is of French origin.
