Sarajevo is the beginning of the story in Le Sommeil du Monstre, the first of four
volumes in the series La Tétralogie du Monstre by Enki Bilal. In the hospital of this city,
the three main characters, Nike, Leyla, and Amir, are born. From that moment, Nike vows to
protect them, and to achieve this goal, he will do whatever it takes, even if it means getting caught
in the machinations of the Obscurantis Order.
The image transcribed in pigment print,
offered by Christian Colin Editions, is taken from the 59th page of Le Sommeil du
Monstre. The name of the print comes from the sign at the top of the Oslobodenje hotel,
where the inscription Sarajevo Dream gives way to Sarajevo Drama. The dream giving way to
drama is an important theme in this tetralogy...
Numbered and signed by Enki Bilal, this
40 x 50 cm print is limited to 100 copies. It has been printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308g
paper. You will find the publisher's stamp on the back of the image.
