This image can be found in the third volume of the series La Tétralogie du
Monstre, Rendez-vous à Paris. Throughout this story, a three-voice narrative
unfolds, focusing on Nike, Leyla, and Amir, who are connected by their birthplace in Sarajevo and
Nike's quest.
In this pigment print, offered by Christian Colin Editions, Trains,
Nike finds himself in a nameless station, heading towards an unknown destination. Lost and
unsure of where he is truly going, he continues to move forward, step by step. His body and mind
are tortured, but the only thing he can do is keep moving.
As is his custom, Enki Bilal
reveals a scene that helps us better understand his world and the characters that inhabit it. The
futuristic-looking trains remind us of the fictional nature of this world, although it seems to come
closer to ours each day...
In a 40 x 60 cm format, this print is numbered and signed in an
edition of 100 copies. The print has been made on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308g paper.
